FVCS summer programs have always been the highlight of our year, and in 2023 we are taking them to a whole new level!
We are asking for community support to raise the funds needed for van transportation, as we plan to take our Girdwood, Bird, Indian and Portage kids all over Southcentral Alaska.
Join us outdoors on May 12th from 6:30-9p at Hightower Pub in Girdwood for a family friendly live music and silent auction event. Kids 12 and under are free. Music will be the Zen Trembles (& maybe some local friends too). There will be silent auction items to bid, with all proceeds going to FVCS. Thank you Melissa and Ali for supporting this fundraiser!
Last summer we dipped our toes into the idea of field trips outside of the Girdwood valley, and it was a huge success. This summer, we want to go further! We have Seward, Hope, Whittier, and Talkneetna already on the list – all places that require us to drive all of these wild adventurous kids. Renting a vehicle is not inexpensive, and while we do have a limited amount of KMTA Grant Funds for summer programs already, they just aren’t enough to help keep actual camp costs low for participants.
Our goal for our FundRAGER is to raise at least $5000 to keep camps affordable for all, and get us on the road for as many adventures as possible.
