John & Kathy Trautner Scholarship:The John & Kathy Trautner Scholarship recognizes graduating high school seniors and non-traditional graduates from the Four Valleys area (Girdwood, Bird, Indian, and Portage) for their community service impact. For 2026, there will be (3) scholarships available: (1) $10,000 award and (2) $5000 awards.
This scholarship for graduating high-school seniors is awarded each spring. Four Valleys Community School partners with Girdwood Turnagain Arm Lion’s Club to provide scholarships funded by John and Kathy Trautner for graduating students and non-traditional students who are full time residents of the Four Valleys area.
All application packets must be mailed to FVCS or submitted to the FVCS office in person during office hours (M-Th, 3-7 PM). Applicants interview with a small committee in person.
