Four Valleys Community School announces two different scholarships for High School (& home school equivalent) students for the spring. Deadline for both Scholarships is April 5th, 2013.
- Senior Service Scholarship 2013: Four Valleys Community School partners with our local Lion’s Club to provide two $750.00 scholarships for graduating seniors. Applicants interview with a small committee. This scholarship is awarded each spring. This year’s deadline is to apply is April 5, 2013. The 2012 Scholarship recipient was Tucker Jonas. Tucker has a 4.2 GPA at South High School, and over 160 hours of volunteer time in the Four Valleys area.
- Prince William Sound Expedition 2013 Scholarship: Four Valleys Community School is partnering with the Chugach Children’s Forest and Alaska Geographic to award three local youth currently in Grades 9-12 (or home-school equivalent) to spend 10 days kayaking in the Prince William Sound. Students will kayak, camp, and volunteer in the Chugach National Forest, and work with US Forest Service rangers and scientists on projects such as species management, marine debris removal, and campsite restoration. Deadline to apply is April 5, 2013.
