FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alyeska Snow Classic Tickets On Sale Feb. 15th!
Girdwood, AK, Friday February 15, 2013–Four Valleys Community School is pleased to announce that it will be conducting its first Alyeska Snow Classic. Ticket sales will begin on Feb. 15th and continue until March 31st midnight.
The Alyeska Snow Classic will operate similar to the Nenana Ice Classic. Rather than predicting when the ice will break, Alyeska Snow Classic players will guess the depth of snow on Mount Alyeska. Contestants will guess the snow depth in feet and tenths and hundredths of a foot. Measurement will take place on April 28, 2013. Contest participants purchase ticket(s) priced at $2.50 each and enter their guess(es) into a Alyeska Snow Classic container. 50% of monies raised will support FVCS and the remaining 50% will be distributed to the winner(s).
Purchase tickets at several locations around Girdwood and Indian. Thank you to these businesses for supporting Four Valleys Community School. Business are: Tesoro in Girdwood, The Tourist Trap, Coast Pizza, Casa del Sol, Chair 5, Double Musky Restaurant, Silvertip Bar Grill, The Grind, Java Haus, Jack Sprat, Powder Hound, The Bake Shop, The Sitzmark and Tramway Café at Alyeska Resort, and the Brown Bear Saloon in Indian. Stop by one of these generous homegrown businesses to purchase your Alyeska Snow Classic tickets, and do a little local shopping and dining!
FVCS would also like to say a special thank you to Alyeska Resort, John Byrne, Di Hiibner and Matt Parisen for allowing us to install our measuring stick on their mountain. We would also like to thank Jeremy Hurst for donating his time and surveying expertise with this special project.
